Lexington Harbor

The Lexington Harbor was built and is kept up by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This harbor is mainly used for fun activities like boating. It has ramps for launching and taking out boats. There are also places to refuel boats and 190 spots where boats can dock.

The harbor needs to be cleaned regularly because sand and dirt can get into the water. This cleaning process is called dredging. It happens about every 3 to 5 years. The sand and dirt that are removed are placed on the nearby beaches.
