The Libertarian National Committee (LNC) is the main group that manages the United States Libertarian Party. Think of it as the party's leadership team. It handles the party's activities, money, and property.
The LNC is made up of several important people. These include the party officers, like the Chair and Secretary. It also includes five members chosen from across the country. These members are elected every two years at the party's big national meeting. There can also be up to 10 representatives from different regions. The current leader, or Chair, is Angela McArdle. She was chosen at the 2022 Libertarian National Convention.
The LNC works to change laws and rules. They often challenge laws that limit how much money people can give to political parties and candidates. They do this by speaking out or even filing lawsuits.
Who Leads the LNC?
The LNC has several key officers who help run the party. These leaders are elected to their positions. They make important decisions about the party's direction.
Other Members
Besides the main officers, the LNC includes other important members. These members help represent different parts of the country. They bring different ideas and viewpoints to the committee.
There are five "at-large" members. These members are elected by the entire party at the national convention. They represent all Libertarian Party members.
There are also regional representatives. These people represent specific areas or regions of the United States. This helps make sure that the LNC hears from people all over the country.
Past Leaders of the LNC
Many different people have served as the Chair of the Libertarian National Committee. Each Chair leads the party for a certain period. They help guide the party's goals and activities.
