Lievegem is a cool town in Belgium. It's located in the province called East Flanders. This town was created on January 1, 2019. It was formed by joining three smaller towns: Waarschoot, Lovendegem, and Zomergem.
The name Lievegem was chosen by the people living there. They held a special vote called a referendum. About 55% of the voters picked Lievegem. The name means "Lieve Canal settlement," named after a nearby canal.
Lievegem is a pretty big place! It covers an area of about 80.78 square kilometers. As of 2021, about 26,441 people live there.
