Lin Yun (born April 16, 1996) is a Chinese actress and model. She is also known as Jelly Lin. Many people know her best for playing the main character in the 2016 movie The Mermaid.

Lin Yun was born on April 16, 1996. Her birth name was Fei Xia. She grew up in Huzhou, Zhejiang, in China. Her father worked as a porter, and her mother was a housewife. Lin Yun went to Huzhou No. 12 Middle School. Later, she studied at a performing arts school in Beijing.
Lin Yun's Acting Career
Lin Yun started her acting career at 18 years old. She did not have much acting experience at the time. However, she was chosen for the main role in the 2016 movie The Mermaid. This film was directed by the famous Stephen Chow.
The Mermaid became the movie that earned the most money in China that year. This made Lin Yun very famous. In the same year, she also appeared in a fantasy movie called L.O.R.D: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties. This movie was directed by Guo Jingming.
Lin Yun worked with Stephen Chow again in 2017. She acted in his movie Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons 2. In this film, she played the White Bone Spirit. She also starred in a romantic comedy from Disney, called The Dreaming Man. Another movie she was in was the historical film Genghis Khan.
In 2018, Lin Yun got her first main role in a TV show. It was a fantasy drama called Battle Through the Heavens. This show was based on a popular book. She also appeared in Beautiful Reborn Flower, a romance drama. Another show she starred in was Cantabile Youth, which was based on a Japanese comic book.
In 2019, Lin Yun played the main female role in the romantic movie Fall in Love at First Kiss. This movie was a new version of a Taiwanese TV series. She also played her role again in The Mermaid 2, which is the second Mermaid movie.
In 2024, Lin Yun was featured in a video. It showed her adventures in Somme, a part of France. She explored places like the Notre-Dame Amiens Cathedral. She also visited the old town of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Lin Yun saw the beautiful old villas in Mers-les-Bains.
