The town of Linn Grove got its name from a group of linden trees that grew nearby. A post office, which is where people send and receive mail, has been open in Linn Grove since 1877.

Linn Grove is located in Iowa, near the Little Sioux River. Its exact location is 42.892537 degrees North and -95.241992 degrees West.
