Lisa Whelchel is an American actress, singer, songwriter, author, and life coach. She is famous for being a Mouseketeer on The New Mickey Mouse Club. She also played the character Blair Warner for nine years on the TV show The Facts of Life.
In 1984, Lisa was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance. This was for her Christian music album called All Because of You. In 2012, Whelchel was a contestant on the TV show Survivor: Philippines. She finished in second place and was voted a fan favorite, winning $100,000.

Early TV Roles
When Lisa was 13, talent scouts found her in Texas. They were looking for children to work with Disney Studios. She became a Mouseketeer on The New Mickey Mouse Club. She moved to California and appeared on the show from 1977 to 1978.
The Facts of Life
Lisa Whelchel is most recognized for her role as Blair Warner on The Facts of Life. Blair was a smart and wealthy student. Lisa also played Blair on Diff'rent Strokes, which was the show that The Facts of Life came from.
In 2001, Lisa played Blair Warner again in a TV movie called The Facts of Life Reunion. She has reunited with her co-stars many times over the years. In 2004, she sang the theme song with Charlotte Rae at the TV Land Awards. In 2011, the cast of The Facts of Life received the Pop Culture Award. In 2021, Lisa, Kim Fields, and Mindy Cohn reunited for a special TV event. Lisa also sang the show's theme song during that event.
Music Career
In 1984, Lisa Whelchel released a Christian pop album. It was titled All Because of You. The album became very popular on the Christian music charts. It reached No. 17 on the Billboard Contemporary Christian music charts.
She was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance. Lisa was also recognized for writing the album's main song, "All Because of You." Other songs on the album included "Just Obey" and "Good Girl." She did not record another album after this one.
Public Speaking
For many years, Lisa Whelchel was a speaker at churches and conferences. She shared inspiring messages across the country. In 2000, she started Momtime Ministries. This was a group for mothers to support and encourage each other.
Writing Books
Lisa Whelchel has written ten books. Her books cover topics like motherhood, raising children, and friendships. She also writes about finding faith through holiday traditions. Some of her books discuss prayer and wisdom from a spiritual view.

Survivor Experience
On August 20, 2012, Lisa Whelchel was announced as a contestant on Survivor: Philippines. She was part of the Tandang tribe. She was one of two "celebrity" contestants that season. Lisa decided to keep her famous identity a secret from the other players. Many of them were too young to have seen The Facts of Life when it first aired. Only a few contestants recognized her as "Blair Warner."
Lisa made it to the Final Tribal Council on December 16, 2012. There, a jury member revealed her past as a child star. She tied for second place with another contestant, Michael Skupin. They both lost to the winner, Denise Stapley. Lisa was also voted the Sprint Player of the Season. This award earned her an extra $100,000.
Hosting Roles
After Survivor, Lisa Whelchel took on some hosting duties. On January 14, 2013, she co-hosted several episodes of The Jeff Probst Show. This show was hosted by Jeff Probst, who also hosts Survivor.
In April 2019, Lisa hosted a marathon of The Facts of Life on the MeTV network. This was to promote her new series, Collector's Call. That show debuted later in 2019 and is expected to continue into 2025.
Personal Life
On July 9, 1988, Lisa Whelchel married Steven Cauble. He was a pastor at a church she attended. They had three children together. The couple divorced in March 2012.
