Lisco is a small community in Garden County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a special area that the government counts for population, but it is not an official town or city. In 2020, about 68 people lived in Lisco.

History of Lisco

Lisco was started in 1909. This happened when the Union Pacific Railroad built its tracks to this spot. The community was named after a man named Reuben Lisco. He was a cattleman who owned a lot of land in the area. This included the land where Lisco is today. Mr. Lisco later became the head of the Lisco State Bank.

In the year 2000, the U.S. Census Bureau made a mistake. They accidentally called Lisco "Cisco" in their count. However, the area around it was still correctly called Lisco. By 2005, the Census Bureau realized their error. They then said that the Lisco census area was wrongly shown as "Cisco."
