Elisabeth Caroline "Lise" Simms (born March 17, 1963) is a talented American actress, singer, designer, and dancer. She has been in many TV shows, movies, and plays. Lise is perhaps best known for her role as Barbara Diffy in the Disney Channel series Phil of the Future.

Starting on Stage: Broadway and Theater

Lise Simms began her acting journey when she was just 13 years old. After finishing high school, she moved to Broadway, which is famous for its amazing plays and musicals.

During the 1980s, Lise performed in many popular Broadway shows. These included Mame, Can-Can, Sweet Charity, and Bye Bye Birdie. She was also part of the first cast of Beauty and the Beast in Los Angeles, California. In 1986, she traveled the world performing in A Chorus Line.

Television Roles and Hosting

Lise Simms has appeared in many television shows. She was the host of Area on the Style Network. She also had a regular role as Nurse Kathy Baker on Sunset Beach.

One of her most famous roles was Barbara Diffy, Phil's mom, in the Disney Channel show Phil of the Future. She also played "The Timekeeper" in one episode of that series. Lise also had a recurring role as Connie Wayne in the soap opera The Young and the Restless.

She made guest appearances on many other popular shows. These include Friends, Providence, MADtv, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Star Trek: Voyager, and iCarly. In 1988, she even performed for President Reagan in a special TV series called Great Performances at the White House.

Lise also showed off her design skills on Home & Garden Television's Desperate Spaces. As a co-host and interior designer, she helped redecorate rooms in just two days with a small budget. Desperate Spaces first aired on January 1, 2008. She also appeared as Louise Collins, Ty's mother, in an episode of 90210 in 2009.
