This is a list of characters from the popular Nickelodeon and Disney animated TV show Doug. The show follows the life of Doug Funnie, a creative and imaginative boy, as he navigates growing up in the town of Bluffington.
Main characters
- Douglas Yancey "Doug" Funnie is the main character of the show. He is an 11-year-old (later 12-year-old) boy who is very creative and imaginative. Doug has a strong sense of right and wrong. He loves to write in his journal and plays the banjo in his free time. Doug also has a secret superhero alter-ego called Quailman.
- Quailman is Doug's superhero alter-ego. He has special powers related to the quail. His sidekick is Quaildog, who is actually Porkchop.
- Smash Adams is another one of Doug's alter-egos. He is a British spy agent, like a funny version of James Bond.
- Race Canyon is an adventurous archaeologist, another alter-ego of Doug's. He is a parody of Indiana Jones.
- Porkchop is Doug's best friend and pet dog. He is an anthropomorphic dog, meaning he acts a lot like a human. Porkchop goes almost everywhere with Doug and often helps him make decisions. He is also very talented, even acting sometimes! Porkchop lives in a cool igloo-shaped doghouse. He once saved Beebe Bluff from falling through thin ice.
- Mosquito "Skeeter" Valentine is Doug's blue-skinned best friend. He is known for the honking sounds he often makes. Skeeter is very smart and helps Doug with many things, like ordering food or learning to dance. He and Doug are big fans of the rock band The Beets. Skeeter sometimes works as a DJ.
- Patricia "Patti" Mayonnaise is Doug's orange-skinned crush and close friend. Patti is a great athlete and very popular. She is usually kind and helpful to others. Her father uses a wheelchair after an accident. In the last episode, Patti asked Doug out on a "date date."
- Roger M. Klotz is Doug's green-skinned rival and the school bully. He often causes trouble for Doug and his friends. Roger used to live in a trailer park, but his family became very wealthy later on. Roger has a secret crush on Judy, Doug's sister. He has a magenta-furred cat named Stinky, who is often with him. Roger usually calls Doug by his last name, "Funnie."
- Beebe Bluff is the daughter of the richest man in town, Bill Bluff. She is a spoiled heiress but is also one of Doug's friends. The town of Bluffington is even named after her family! Beebe is friends with Patti Mayonnaise and other classmates. Doug had his first kiss with her, but it was more out of thanks than love, as she has a crush on Skeeter.
- Judith Anastasia "Judy" Funnie is Doug's older sister. She loves the works of William Shakespeare and wants to be an actress and artist. Judy goes to a special art school. She and Doug have normal sibling arguments, but they care deeply about each other. She often calls Doug "Dougie." Judy always wears a beret and dark glasses, giving her a unique style.

- Chalky Studebaker is a friendly and helpful school athlete with light green skin. He is one of Doug's friends. Chalky comes from a family where winning comes naturally, which can sometimes put pressure on him.
- Connie Benge is a sweet and kind schoolgirl who is Patti's best friend. She is also a friend of Doug's. In the first series, Connie had a small crush on Doug, but he only saw her as a friend. She changed her appearance between the two series, becoming taller and losing weight.
- Bud Dink is Doug's slightly unusual, purple-skinned neighbor. Doug often asks Mr. Dink for advice, though it's not always helpful. His wife, Tippy, later becomes the mayor of Bluffington.
- Theda Funnie is Doug's, Judy's, and Dirtbike's mother. She is often shown as a housewife but also works at the Deja Vu Recycling Center. She is an outgoing environmentalist.
- Phil Funnie is Doug's, Judy's, and Dirtbike's father. He works as a photographer. Phil is friendly and sometimes a bit clumsy. He often gives Doug advice, which can sometimes be silly. He is also very good at making kites.
- Al and Moo Sleech are twin brothers who are very smart and nerdy. They are friends with Doug and Skeeter. Doug often asks them for technical help. They both have a crush on Judy.
- Willie White is one of Roger's friends and the son of the former mayor. He is not very smart but is friendly with Doug.

- Mrs. Wingo is Doug's elementary school teacher. She is generally a nice teacher but can be stern when needed.
- Cleopatra "Dirtbike" Funnie is Doug's baby sister. She only appears in the Disney series. Judy gave her the nickname "Dirtbike."
- Stinky is Roger's magenta-colored cat. Stinky loves Roger very much. She doesn't get along well with Doug's dog, Porkchop.
- Principal Buttsavitch is the principal of Doug's schools, but he is never seen or heard. Mr. Bone often mentions how busy he is.
- Bob White is the former mayor of Bluffington and later the principal of Beebe Bluff Middle School. He is known for his campaign slogan, "Vote for me!"
- William Hornblower Bluff III is Beebe's father and the richest man in Bluffington. His company, BluffCo, is the town's biggest factory. He is a powerful businessman.
- Walter "Skunky" Beaumont is a laid-back surfer dude. He was often mentioned but not seen in the Nickelodeon series, but he became a regular character in the Disney series.
- Fentruck Stimmel is a foreign exchange student from Yakistonia. He is friends with Doug and his group, becoming a more important character in the Disney series.
- Larry is a schoolkid who is part of the A. V. Club. In the Disney series, he works on the school newspaper.
- Brian is a yellow-skinned schoolkid with orange hair, also a member of the A. V. Club.
- Percy Femur is Lamar Bone's nephew and another bully who is even meaner than Roger.
- Guy Graham is an 8th grader who appears only in the Disney series. He is handsome but can be selfish. He is Doug's boss at the school newspaper and a rival for Patti's attention.
- Joe Valentine is Skeeter's father. He can sometimes have a short temper.
- Ruby Valentine is Skeeter's mother.
- Dale Valentine is Skeeter's toddler brother. He looks like a smaller version of Skeeter and often causes trouble, but he is lovable.
- Coach Spitz is Doug's baseball and football coach. He is not very good at coaching and expects his players to be naturally talented.
- Mr. Swirly is the owner of Swirly's Ice Cream. In the Disney series, his restaurant became a popular hangout spot for Doug and his friends.
- Emily Kristal is Doug's middle school teacher, appearing only in the Disney series. She is friendly and understanding. She later marries Patti's father, Chad.
- Loretta Lequigly is a transfer student from Yakestonia on whom Skeeter develops a crush.
- The Beets are a very popular rock band from Liverpool, similar to The Beatles. The band breaks up in the Disney series.

- Clyde "Chap" Lipman is the drummer and leader of The Beets.
- Wendy Nespah is the keyboard player and the only female member of The Beets.
- Flounder is the lead guitarist of The Beets.
- Chad Mayonnaise is Patti's father. He is a kind man who uses a wheelchair. He and Patti are very close. He later becomes a history teacher and marries Ms. Kristal.
- Todd Bentley is a second grader who looks up to Doug. He later joins Doug's team in the Bluffscouts.
