Story of Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future
What is a Prism Show?
Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future takes place three years after Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream. The story is set in Odaiba, Japan. The main focus is on Prism Stars. These are idols who perform special figure skating routines. They mix fashion, singing, and dancing.
Prism Stars use special moves called Prism Jumps. They also use heart-shaped stones called Prism Stones for their outfits. In this series, there are new things called Prism Act and Fan Calls. Fan Calls are votes from the audience. People vote on their phones during a show. A Prism Act is a special ending move. It's like a short acting performance. You can do a Prism Act by landing perfect Prism Jumps. You also need to get the most Fan Calls.
Main Story
The story begins with Mia Ageha. She wants to join Pretty Top School. Her goal is to challenge Aira Harune, who is the current Prism Queen. Mia, along with her friends Reina Miyama, Karin Shijimi, and Ayami Ōruri, form a group called Prizmmy. They make their debut as Prism Stars.
At the same time, Pretty Top School gets five new students from South Korea. Their names are Hye-in, Shi-yoon, Jae-eun, Chae-kyoung, and So-min. They form a group called Puretty. Both Prizmmy and Puretty work hard on their idol activities. They also enter the Symphonia Series tournaments. The winners get rare Prism Stones. These stones are part of the Symphonia Series clothing line. This line was created by Kintaro Asechi. Through these tournaments, the groups learn how to perform Prism Acts.
As Prizmmy and Puretty get better, a man named Don Bomby appears. He hosts the Symphonia Series. He tricks Pretty Top School into entering more tournaments. Don Bomby then reveals he is Kintaro Asechi. He wants to perform "Grateful Symphonia." This is an amazing Prism Act that he believes will change Prism Shows forever. Kintaro wants Aira to perform "Grateful Symphonia." He starts to recruit Prism Stars who lose against Aira. To stop him, the outfits from the Symphonia Series are remade. Prizmmy and Puretty use these new outfits to try and defeat Aira. They face her in the Sky High Symphonia tournament.
After Pretty Top School and Aira are safe, Kintaro causes trouble. He reveals that he helped Kyoko's Prism Star career in the past. This makes Prism Shows less popular. To fix things, the groups at Pretty Top School decide to perform "Grateful Symphonia." A tournament is held to pick the main dancer for "Grateful Symphonia." Mia and Hye-in tie! Pretty Top School decides to let the Goddess of the Prism Shows choose.
During "Grateful Symphonia," Kintaro tries to interfere. But Mia convinces him that friendly competition helps her grow. Mia and Hye-in's strong friendship makes the Goddess choose both of them as the main dancers. Together, all the groups at Pretty Top School complete "Grateful Symphonia." This saves Prism Shows! After this, everyone moves on with their lives and careers.
