List of The Powerpuff Girls episodes facts for kids

The Powerpuff Girls is a super popular American cartoon show created by Craig McCracken for Cartoon Network. It's all about three super-powered little girls – Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup – who protect their city, Townsville, from villains!
The idea for the show started way back in 1992. Craig McCracken made a student film called Whoopass Stew while he was at the California Institute of the Arts. Later, two more short cartoons, "Meat Fuzzy Lumpkins" and "Crime 101", were shown on Cartoon Network's World Premiere Toons.
The Powerpuff Girls officially started on November 18, 1998. It ran for 6 seasons and had 78 episodes! There was also a special Christmas episode and a 10th-anniversary special. You can find many of these episodes on VHS tapes and DVDs. One musical episode, "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey", wasn't shown in the United States but was aired in Canada and other countries. It's also on the complete series DVD set.

Early Adventures: Pilots and Shorts
Before the main series began, the Powerpuff Girls had a few early adventures that helped shape the show we know and love!
Whoopass Stew: The First Short
Craig McCracken first created a short film called "Whoopass Stew! The Whoopass Girls in: A Sticky Situation" when he was a student. This was the very first look at the super-powered girls! The story was about the girls fighting the Amoeba Boys and getting stuck to them. To win, they had to fly the Amoeba Boys into the sun! This short was mostly shown at animation events and wasn't aired on TV because of its original name.
