This article is all about the airports in Azerbaijan! Airports are super important places where airplanes take off and land, connecting cities and countries. Azerbaijan, officially called the Republic of Azerbaijan, is a country located where Europe and Asia meet. It's bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south.
Azerbaijan also has a special part called Nakhchivan, which is separated from the main country. It's surrounded by Armenia, Iran, and a small border with Turkey. The capital city of Azerbaijan is Baku.
The way airplanes fly and airports operate in Azerbaijan is managed by the country's Ministry of Transportation. In the past, there have been big projects to make airports better. For example, Ganja Airport had a large project to make its main runway longer. This helped the city get its first direct international flights! Similar improvements were planned for airports in Lankaran and Zaqatala.
