The Czech Republic has a special leader called the Prime Minister. This person is the head of government, which means they are in charge of how the country is run day-to-day. The Prime Minister leads the government and makes sure things like schools, hospitals, and roads work well. The President is the head of state, who represents the country.
The job of Prime Minister in the Czech Republic started in 1993. This was after Czechoslovakia split into two separate countries: the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The very first Prime Minister of the Czech Republic was Václav Klaus. He later became the President. The person who is Prime Minister right now is Petr Fiala. He became the 13th Prime Minister on December 17, 2021.
