Little Bruce is an American rapper from Vallejo, California. He is famous for his first album, XXXtra Manish, which came out in 1994. This album was released by two record companies: Sick Wid It and Jive Records.
Early Life and Music Career
Little Bruce started rapping in 1989. For a few years, he had a rivalry with another rapper named Mac Dre. They even made songs about each other.
In 1990, Little Bruce signed with Sick Wid It Records. Before his first album, he appeared on several other albums from Sick Wid It Records. These included Tryin' to Get a Buck, Federal, and Down and Dirty.
His first album, XXXtra Manish, was released on October 11, 1994. It was made with help from producers like Mike Mosley and Sam Bostic. The album did well and reached number 60 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Many other artists, like Kaveo and Funk Mobb, also performed on the album. To help promote the album, a music video was made for the song "Mobbin' In My Old School".
Later Music and Collaborations
After his first album, Little Bruce left the record label in 1995. He took a break from making his own music for a while. However, he still appeared on songs by other rappers from the Bay Area. Some of these albums were The Hogg in Me and The Hemp Museum.
In 2000, Little Bruce returned to making his own music. He released his second album that year. This album featured guest artists like B-Legit and Outlawz.
Little Bruce often worked with Mac Dre. They performed together on many songs and albums. He also released more albums of his own, such as Base Rock 2 ... Socks and The Liquid Assets Deal. He even released a collection of his best songs called Triple X Classics.
One special album, The Supa Sig Tapes, is a collection of early songs. These songs were recorded by Mac Dre and Little Bruce between 1989 and 1991.
