Music Career
Little Bruce started his rap career in 1989. Early on, he had a musical rivalry with another rapper, Mac Dre. The two artists made several songs about each other between 1989 and 1991.
Working with Sick Wid It Records
In 1990, Little Bruce signed with Sick Wid It Records. Before releasing his own album, he was a guest artist on several of the label's other albums. These included Tryin' to Get a Buck, Federal, and Down and Dirty.
His first album, XXXtra Manish, came out on October 11, 1994. It was produced by Mike Mosley, Sam Bostic, and Studio Ton. Rappers B-Legit and E-40 were the executive producers. The album was a success, reaching number 60 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It featured guest performances from artists like Kaveo, Levitti, and Funk Mobb. To promote the album, a music video was made for the song "Mobbin' in My Old School".
Taking a Break and Returning to Music
In 1995, Little Bruce and Sick Wid It Records parted ways due to disagreements. After this, he took a break from making his own music. However, he still appeared as a guest on albums by other rappers from the San Francisco Bay Area.
He returned to the music scene in 2000 with his second album, Give It to Me Baby!. This album featured many guest artists, including B-Legit, Big Syke, and Outlawz.
Later Work and Collaborations
Little Bruce often worked with Mac Dre and appeared on several of his albums. He also released more of his own projects, including Base Rock 2 ... Socks and The Liquid Assets Deal. He also released a collection of his most popular songs called ... Classics.
