The Little River is a small river in New Hampshire, United States. It is about 4.9 mi (7.9 km) long. The water from the Little River flows into bigger rivers. These include the Big River, the Suncook River, and the Merrimack River. Eventually, all this water reaches the Gulf of Maine, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean.
About the Little River
The Little River starts in a town called Strafford, New Hampshire. It begins on the west side of the Blue Hills Range. This area is in central New Hampshire.
Where the River Flows
After starting, the Little River flows towards the northwest. As it travels, it collects more water. Some of this water comes from the Willey Ponds. The river then continues its journey.
Joining Other Rivers
The Little River eventually meets a larger river. It joins the Big River. This meeting point is just north of a small village. That village is called South Barnstead. From there, the water continues its long trip to the ocean.
