The Little Southwest Miramichi River is a cool river in New Brunswick, Canada. It flows through Northumberland County. The local Mi'kmaq people call this river "Tooadook".

This river starts its journey at Gover Lake. This lake is found in the Miramichi Highlands. These highlands are part of the big Appalachian Mountains range.

The River's Journey

The Little Southwest Miramichi River flows between two other rivers. To its north is the Northwest Miramichi River. To its south is the Renous River.

Where Rivers Meet

The Little Southwest Miramichi River meets the Northwest Miramichi River at a place called Red Bank. The Renous River joins the Southwest Miramichi River at Renous.

Later, the Northwest Miramichi River and the Southwest Miramichi River come together. They meet at Newcastle. When they join, they form the larger Miramichi River.

This river is very famous for Atlantic salmon fishing. Many people come here to try and catch these amazing fish.

River Challenges

Some parts of the river are quite wild. The upper and middle sections have lots of whitewater. This makes them exciting but also tricky for canoeing. It can be dangerous for boats. However, the lower part of the river is much calmer. It is a popular spot for canoeing adventures.
