Most of this area is land, but about 2.40 square miles (6.22 square kilometers) is water. This means there are lakes or rivers within the township, adding to its natural beauty. The highest point in the township is about 735 feet (224 meters) above sea level.

Communities in the Township

There are a couple of smaller communities located within Little Traverse Township:

  • Conway is a community found on the west side of Crooked Lake. It is located along U.S. Highway 31. This community even has its own special post office.
  • Wequetonsing is another community in the township. It is just east of Harbor Springs along M-119.
