The Little Truckee River is a river about 30.6 miles (49.2 kilometers) long. It is a smaller river that flows into the larger Truckee River. You can find it in Nevada County, which is in eastern California.

Where the River Flows

The Little Truckee River begins its journey at a place called Webber Lake. This lake is located within the Tahoe National Forest. The forest is part of the large Sierra Nevada mountain range.

From Webber Lake, the river generally flows towards the southeast. It passes through two important reservoirs along its way. First, it reaches Stampede Reservoir. After that, it flows into Boca Reservoir. Finally, the Little Truckee River joins up with the Truckee River.

Building the Boca Dam

An important part of the river's history involves the Boca Dam. This dam was completed in the year 1939. It was built as part of a bigger plan called the Truckee Storage Project. Dams like Boca Dam help to store water for different uses.
