Protecting Little Yellow Mountain
On December 3, 2009, a group called the Nature Conservancy made an important announcement. They bought 466 acres (about 1.89 square kilometers) of land at the very top of Little Yellow Mountain.
Their main goal is to give this land to the North Carolina State Parks System. This way, it will become part of the Yellow Mountain State Natural Area. This helps protect the mountain's natural beauty and wildlife for everyone to enjoy.
