Liz Pichon (born August 16, 1963) is a British author and illustrator. She is famous for her Tom Gates book series. These books are funny stories about a boy named Tom Gates. The series has sold over 16.5 million copies. It has also been translated into 44 different languages.

Liz Pichon's Early Life
Liz Pichon was born in London, England, on August 16, 1963. She grew up in an area called Hampstead. Liz went to Brookfield Primary School. Later, she attended St Augustine's in Kilburn. She studied graphic design at the Camberwell College of Arts. Her first job was an art director for a music company. She worked there from 1987 to 1990.

Liz Pichon is best known for her Tom Gates series. The first book came out in 2011. There are now 23 books in the main series. There is also a special book for World Book Day. Other Tom Gates books include an Annual, an Activity Book, and a Music Book.
Her book Shoe Wars was published in October 2020. It has sold 95,000 copies. Liz Pichon is also working on a new graphic novel series. It is called Meet The Mubbles. The first book is expected in 2025.
Fun Events and Records
In 2016, Liz Pichon helped create the "Kids' Tapestry." This was a children's version of the Bayeux Tapestry. It showed historical events. This project celebrated 950 years since the Battle of Hastings.
In 2017, Liz Pichon and her publisher, Scholastic Children's Books, set a Guinness World Record. They held the largest disco dance ever!

Liz Pichon has dyslexia. This means she learns differently. In 1990, she married Mark Flannery. They have three children together. They live in Brighton, England.

Tom Gates on Stage and Screen
In 2019, a stage show called Tom Gates Live toured the UK. Liz Pichon helped write this play.
In 2020, Liz Pichon and her husband, Mark Flannery, started a podcast. It is called Tremendous Tales.
In 2021, Tom Gates: The Album was released. It features songs from the Tom Gates books. Liz Pichon and Mark Flannery wrote the songs.
Also in 2021, The Brilliant World of Tom Gates TV show started on Sky Kids. Liz Pichon helps write and present the show. It mixes animation, songs, and drawing activities. The third series of the show launched in January 2024. The show has won several awards:

A Tom Gates movie is also being developed.
