Elizabeth Shaila Koshy (born March 31, 1996) is a popular American YouTuber, media personality, and actress. She started her career online and quickly became famous. Her main YouTube channel has nearly 17 million subscribers. Both of her channels together have over 3 billion views.
Liza has won many awards for her work. These include four Streamy Awards, four Teen Choice Awards, and a Kids' Choice Award. She began her journey on a short-video app called Vine in 2013. Later, she started her own YouTube channel.
She made her acting debut in the horror comedy film Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016). Liza also starred in the TV series Freakish (2016–2017). She was a correspondent for the MTV show Total Request Live (2017–2018). Liza also created and starred in the comedy series Liza on Demand (2018–2021). She hosted the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare (2018–2019).
Liza Koshy was recognized by Forbes in their 30 Under 30 Hollywood & Entertainment list in 2019. Time magazine also included her in their list of the 25 Most Influential People on the Internet that same year.

Early Life and Beginnings
Elizabeth Shaila Koshy was born in Houston, Texas, on March 31, 1996. Her mother, Jean Carol, is a yoga instructor. Her father, Jose Koshy, is a petroleum executive. Liza has two older sisters.
When she was younger, she learned to speak Spanish in a special school program. After finishing Lamar High School in 2014, Liza went to the University of Houston. She studied business marketing there. In 2015, she decided to leave college. She moved to Los Angeles to follow her dream of a career in media.

Acting Roles
Liza Koshy has taken on many acting roles. In 2016, she played Violet Adams in the Hulu horror series Freakish. She returned for the second season in 2017. That same year, she was Aday Walker in the film Boo! A Madea Halloween. She also appeared as herself in the YouTube Premium series Jingle Ballin'.
Liza starred as Princess Aubrey in the 2016 comedy film FML. In 2017, she had a recurring role as The Explorer in the YouTube Premium mystery series Escape the Night.
Liza also co-created and starred in the YouTube Premium comedy series Liza on Demand. This show started in June 2018. It follows her character as she does odd jobs. Critics praised her physical comedy in the show. The second season premiered in September 2019. In 2018, she voiced Owl in Crow: The Legend, an animated virtual-reality film. She returned to Escape the Night in 2019.
Liza co-starred in the Netflix dance-comedy film Work It (2020). She also lent her voice to Zipp Storm in the 2021 Netflix film My Little Pony: A New Generation. In 2023, she voiced Serena in the TV series Primos.

Liza Koshy has hosted many big events. She hosted the live preshow for the 2017 Golden Globes Awards. This event had 2.7 million live viewers on Twitter. She also hosted Nigel Lythgoe's series Every Single Step.
From 2017 to 2018, she was a host on Total Request Live on MTV. She also helped produce content for MTV. Liza was the first "digital star" to be interviewed for Vogue magazine's "73 Questions" web series. She interviewed celebrities at the 2018 and 2019 Met Galas for Vogue.
From June 2018 to December 2019, she hosted the new version of the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare. In 2020, Liza hosted the dance competition show Floored.
Liza also works with different brands. Her online ads for Beats Electronics get many more viewers than other celebrities' ads. She also works with The Giving Keys, a jewelry company that helps people who used to be homeless. Liza is also a co-chair for "When We All Vote". This group encourages more people to vote. She also advertises for Beyond Meat.
