About Lizzie Mary Cullen
Lizzie Mary Cullen started her career in a very exciting place! Before becoming a full-time artist, she worked as a production assistant for Warner Bros.. This meant she helped make the famous Harry Potter films.
After her time in the movie world, Lizzie went to Goldsmiths and graduated in 2008. Since then, her amazing artwork has been shown in big cities like London, New York, and Paris. She has also been featured in well-known publications like The Independent and Wired, and on BBC London.
What Kind of Art Does She Make?
Lizzie's art often explores how people feel about and connect with cities. She creates maps and drawings of urban places, showing how they make us feel. This idea is sometimes called psychogeography.
In 2011, a magazine called Design Week recognized her as one of the top 50 people making a difference in design. Many big companies and organizations have asked Lizzie to create art for them. Her clients include Zizzi, MTV, Harvey Nichols, HTC, First Direct, Somerset House, and Penguin Books. She has also worked with Universal, Lewis Hamilton, Oxfam, and The Guardian. Lizzie also writes for Design Week magazine and appears in other design publications.
Helping Others Through Art
In September 2010, Lizzie held her very first art show all by herself. This special exhibition was organized to help people who are homeless. All the money raised from selling her artwork went to The Big Issue Foundation. This foundation helps people who are homeless get back on their feet.
Her exhibition got a lot of attention. Even some of the actors from the Harry Potter films, like Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe, came to see her work. The founder of The Big Issue, John Bird, also visited the show.
Awards and Recognition
Lizzie Mary Cullen has received several awards for her creative work.
- 2011 – She was named one of the "Hot 50" by Design Week magazine. This award celebrates people who are making a big impact in the design world.
