Loch Inver is a beautiful sea loch located on the northwest coast of Scotland. It stretches for about 3.62 km (2.25 mi) (2.25 miles) and is found in an area called Assynt in Sutherland.

A sea loch is like a long, narrow arm of the sea that reaches inland. Loch Inver connects with the wider ocean in a few places. To the north, it meets Enard Bay. At its mouth, it joins a larger body of water called The Minch, near a small island called Soyea Island.

Geography of Loch Inver

Loch Inver is surrounded by the rugged and stunning landscapes typical of the Scottish Highlands. The area is known for its mountains, hills, and many smaller lochs.

Soyea Island

At the entrance of Loch Inver, you'll find Soyea Island. This is a small, rocky island that no one lives on. It's located about 1.8 miles (2.9 km) from a place called Badnaban. It's also about 2 miles (3.2 km) south-southwest of Achmelvich, which is another nearby coastal spot.
