Long Flat is a small area in South Australia, located right next to the bigger town of Murray Bridge. It's on the eastern side of the famous Murray River, just south of the main bridges. This area got its official name, Long Flat, in March 2000. It was named after a nearby farming area called the Long Flat Irrigation Area.

The borders of Long Flat were officially set in March 2000. It covers land directly across the river from the main part of Murray Bridge.
Natural and Man-Made Borders
Long Flat has clear boundaries. To the north and east, it's bordered by the Adelaide-Melbourne railway line. To the south, you'll find the South Eastern Freeway. On the west, the area follows a 4.7-kilometer (about 3-mile) stretch of the Murray River.
Nearby Landmarks
You can find some interesting spots near Long Flat. The old Rabila Railway Station, which is no longer in use, sits right on the northern edge of the area. Also, Long Island Recreation Park is located on Long Island within the Murray River, just to the west of Long Flat. It's a great place for outdoor activities!
