Longden End Brook is a small river, also known as a watercourse, located in Greater Manchester, England. It is an important stream because it flows into Hollingworth Lake, which is a popular spot for visitors. The brook is the main source of water for the lake.

Journey of the Brook

Longden End Brook begins its journey high up near a place called Windy Hill. This area is part of the Pennines, a range of hills often called the "backbone of England."

As it flows, Longden End Brook travels through the beautiful Rakewood Valley. It then goes underneath the M62 motorway at a bridge called the Rakewood Viaduct. After this, the brook continues its path until it reaches Hollingworth Lake.

Tributaries

A tributary is a smaller stream or river that flows into a larger one. Longden End Brook has several smaller streams that join it along its course. These are:

  • Lower Whiteley Dean Brook
  • Castle Shore Brook
  • Moss Slack Brook
  • White Isles Brook
