Longitude 131° is a special luxury resort in Australia. It's located very close to Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. This park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means it's recognized globally for its amazing natural beauty. The resort is about 10 kilometers from Uluṟu and near the town of Yulara in the Northern Territory.

What is Longitude 131°?
This resort is famous for its stunning views of Uluṟu, a giant sandstone rock. It has 15 special guest suites, which are designed like luxury tents. Each tent offers its own private view of Uluṟu.
The Dune House
The main building at the resort is called the Dune House. This is where guests can find the restaurant, a bar, a library, and lounge areas. It also has a shop. The Dune House is also built in a tent-style and offers clear views of Uluṟu.
Why the Name?
The resort gets its name, Longitude 131°, from its exact location on the 131st line of longitude. This is a line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole on a map.
Getting There
Because the resort is in a remote area, it provides special transport for guests. These transfers connect with all flights arriving at Ayers Rock Airport. You can also reach the resort by road through Yulara. However, only resort vehicles are allowed to enter the property.
Ownership and Affiliations
Longitude 131° first opened in June 2002. It was part of Voyages Hotels & Resorts at that time. In 2013, a company called Baillie Lodges bought the resort. Today, it is part of the Luxury Lodges of Australia and Unique Lodges of the World. These are groups of very special and unique places to stay.
Bushfires in 2003
Just one year after opening, in 2003, the resort faced a big challenge. Bushfires caused a lot of damage. Many of the guest tents and the main clubhouse were affected by the fire.
Rebuilding the Resort
After the fires, the resort was rebuilt completely. The new buildings were made using parts that were put together beforehand. Light-weight machines were used during construction. This helped to protect the delicate natural environment around the resort. At the time, the area was recovering from the fire, so it was important to build carefully.
Awards and Recognition
Longitude 131° has won many awards because of its unique location and design. These awards show how special the resort is.

- In 2011, it received the American Express Centurion Magazine Reader’s Choice Award for Top Eco Friendly Resort. This means it was recognized for being good for the environment.
