A Little Bit of History
Loraine was started in 1907. People say it was named by a banker named Sherwood H. Sleeper. He might have named it after an old fort called Fort La Reine. This fort was explored in the 1700s by Pierre Gaultier de Varennes, sieur de La Vérendrye.
