Lori Greiner grew up in Chicago, a big city in Illinois. She went to Loyola University Chicago where she studied communications. While she was in college, she also worked for a newspaper called The Chicago Tribune. Before becoming a famous inventor and TV star, she wanted to be a playwright, someone who writes plays. She also sold jewelry as a side job. Lori Greiner is married to Dan Greiner.

First Invention Success
In 1996, Lori created and got a patent for a special plastic organizer for earrings. A big store called J.C. Penney decided to sell her product just before the busy holiday season. This was a huge success! It helped her pay back a large loan of $300,000 in only 18 months.
More Inventions and Products
After her first success, Lori Greiner kept inventing. She has created hundreds of products. Besides jewelry organizers, she has patented many useful items. These include things for organizing makeup, travel items, electronics, and even household goods. She holds 120 patents, which means she legally owns the rights to her inventions.
Becoming the "Queen of QVC"
Lori Greiner's company grew quickly. Her products started appearing on another shopping channel called Home Shopping Network. You could also find them in stores like Bed Bath & Beyond. In 2000, she began hosting her own show on QVC, called "Clever & Unique Creations by Lori Greiner". She appeared on QVC so often and was so successful that she earned the nickname "The Queen of QVC".
Shark Tank Investor
In 2012, Lori Greiner joined the popular American TV show Shark Tank. On this show, entrepreneurs present their business ideas to a panel of investors, called "sharks," hoping to get money for their companies.
One of Lori's most successful investments on Shark Tank was in 2014. She invested in a company called Scrub Daddy. This company makes a unique sponge that changes texture depending on the water temperature. Her investment in Scrub Daddy is known as one of the biggest successes in Shark Tank history.
Lori has invested in many other companies through Shark Tank, including Bantam Bagels, Squatty Potty, ReadeRest, and Drop Stop. She has a very high success rate with her deals on the show, meaning most of her investments do very well.
