The Loup Loup Ski Bowl is a fun ski area in the Methow Valley. It's in Okanogan County, Washington, right between the towns of Twisp and Omak. You can find it easily on Highway 20.

The ski season at Loup Loup usually starts in late November or December and lasts until April. It's open four days a week and on holidays. If you want to learn, Loup Loup offers ski and snowboard lessons. You can also rent gear there. They even have special programs just for kids!

Loup Loup is known for being a safe place to ski. People like that the lift lines are short. Skiers are polite, and the food is not too expensive. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper has even mentioned these great things about Loup Loup.

Skiing and Snowboarding Fun

Loup Loup Ski Bowl is a great place for alpine skiing and snowboarding. The mountain rises 1220 feet (370 meters) from the bottom to the top. The highest point is 5280 feet (1610 meters) above sea level. That's over a mile high!

The ski area has about 550 acres (2.2 square kilometers) where you can ski. There are 10 main ski runs to explore. To get up the mountain, Loup Loup has 3 lifts. One of these is a quad chairlift, which means it can carry four people at once. This chairlift used to be at another ski area called Crystal Mountain before it came to Loup Loup. A group of volunteers who love skiing helps run the mountain.

Cross-Country Skiing Adventures

If you enjoy cross-country skiing, Loup Loup has something for you too. From the main base area, you can access 23 kilometers (about 14 miles) of cross-country trails. There are even more trails nearby! Washington State Parks maintains another 50 kilometers (about 31 miles) of trails close by.

Other Exciting Activities

Besides skiing and snowboarding, Loup Loup offers more fun. At the bottom of the ski area, there's a special hill for tubing. You can walk up the hill and then slide down on a tube. It's a super fun way to enjoy the snow!
