Exploring Lucas's Location
Lucas is found in the south-central part of Collin County. It shares its borders with several other towns and a large lake. To the north, you'll find Fairview. To the west is Allen, and to the southwest is Parker.
The city is bordered by Wylie to the south and southeast. Also to the southeast is St. Paul. On its eastern side, Lucas is next to Lavon Lake, a large body of water.
Land and Water Area
The U.S. Census Bureau states that Lucas covers a total area of about 32.7 square kilometers (about 12.6 square miles). Most of this area is land. Only a very small part, about 0.06 square kilometers (0.02 square miles), is water.
Parks and Recreation in Lucas
Lucas is home to two nice parks where people can enjoy the outdoors.
- Kenneth R. Lewis Park: This park has fields for softball and soccer. It also features a paved walking trail for exercise and a pavilion for gatherings.
- Lucas Community Park: This park has a main area that can hold up to 80 people. It includes a small kitchen, tables, and chairs for events.
