Luis Alberto Félix Sánchez Sánchez (born October 12, 1900 – died February 6, 1994) was an important Peruvian person. He was a lawyer, a thinker, a historian, a writer, and a politician. He was a key member of the Peruvian Aprista Party.
Luis Alberto Sánchez held many important jobs in Peru. He was a Senator and helped write the country's laws in two special groups called Constitutional Assemblies. In one of these, from 1978 to 1980, he was the Vice-President. He also served as the Second Vice President of Peru under President Alan García from 1985 to 1990. For a short time, he was even the Prime Minister of Peru. He was the oldest Vice President in Peru's history, starting his role at 84 years old.

A Long and Important Life
Luis Alberto Sánchez was born in Lima, Peru, in 1900. His life covered almost the entire 20th century. He was a very smart and active person.
University Life and Early Work
He was the head of the National University of San Marcos three times. This is one of the oldest universities in the Americas. In 1919, he helped start something called the "Conversation University." This was a group where important thinkers like Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre and Jorge Basadre met to share ideas.
A Talented Writer
Luis Alberto Sánchez wrote many books and articles. He wrote about famous Peruvian figures and the history of literature in Latin America. Some of his well-known books include:
- Garcilaso Inca de la Vega, first Creole (1939)
- Aladdin or life and work of Jose Santos Chocano (1960)
- Process and content of the Latin American novel (1968)
- Comparative History of American literature (1973–1976)
- Indianism and Indigenism in Peruvian literature (1981)
He also wrote a lot about Manuel González Prada, another important Peruvian writer. He published books like 'Don Manuel' (1930) and 'Myth and Reality of Gonzalez Prada' (1976).
His Political Career
Luis Alberto Sánchez was a very important member of the Peruvian Aprista Party. In 1978, he received the second-highest number of votes to join the Constituent Assembly. This group was formed to write a new constitution for Peru.
In 1985, he was chosen as the Second Vice President of Peru. He ran alongside Alan García, who became president. At the same time, he was also re-elected as a Senator. He served as the President of the Senate twice, first from 1966 to 1967 and again from 1985 to 1986.
Later Years and Legacy
In 1990, Luis Alberto Sánchez was elected Senator again. He served until 1992, when the Congress was closed by President Alberto Fujimori. He spent his last days writing.
He also taught at the Deutsche Schule Lima Alexander von Humboldt. Luis Alberto Sánchez passed away in Lima in 1994. He is remembered as a great Peruvian intellectual and politician who dedicated his life to his country.
