About Lydia Night's Life
Early Years and First Band (2000–2011)
Lydia Night started performing very young. When she was just two years old, she sang a Ramones song at her father's nightclub. This was in New Orleans, where she was born.
A few years later, her family moved to Santa Monica, California. Then they moved to Los Angeles. When Lydia was seven, she started her first band. It was called LILA, which stood for Little Independent Loving Artists. They played at school events and a guitar shop.
Forming Pretty Little Demons (2012–2014)
In 2012, Lydia started a pop rock band called Pretty Little Demons. She formed it with drummer Marlhy Murphy. In 2013, the duo played at a big music festival called South by Southwest. They were the youngest performers ever at that festival.
Their performance caught the eye of actor and musician Ryan Gosling. He asked Lydia to join his band, Dead Man's Bones.
Pretty Little Demons released their first music in 2013. It was an EP (a short album) called "Flowers." In 2014, they released their full album, "Unknown Species."
In 2014, Lydia started high school. She went to Grand Arts High School. This is a performing arts school in Downtown Los Angeles.
Starting The Regrettes (2015–2023)
In 2015, Pretty Little Demons changed their name to The Regrettes. They released their first EP, Hey!, in October. It had four songs and a music video for "Hey Now!".
After this, Marlhy Murphy left the band. New members joined: Genessa Gariano, Sage Chavis, and Maxx Morando.
With this new group, The Regrettes released their first album. It was called Feel Your Feelings Fool! and came out on January 13, 2017. They also released an EP in 2018 called Attention Seeker.
Lydia also worked with other artists. On December 13, 2018, she sang on Gerard Way's Christmas song "Dasher." On April 8, 2019, she was featured on Morrissey's cover of "Wedding Bell Blues." Billie Joe Armstrong also sang on that song.
On June 18, 2019, the band announced their second album. It was named How Do You Love? and was released on August 9.
On December 18, 2023, The Regrettes announced they were breaking up. They played three final shows in Los Angeles.
