Viola Lynn Collins (born May 16, 1977) is an American actress. She is known for her roles in popular TV shows like True Blood, Manhunt: Unabomber, and The Walking Dead. Lynn has also starred in big movies such as X-Men Origins: Wolverine and John Carter.

Early Life and Learning

Lynn Collins was born in College Station, Texas, in May 1977. She spent many of her younger years living in Singapore. During summers, she would visit Japan. Her parents were learning advanced levels of karate there.

When Lynn was a child, she acted in a Christmas play. She played Mrs. Claus. This was when she first realized how much she loved acting. She went to school in Singapore and later in Texas. Lynn then studied acting at the famous Juilliard School. She earned a special degree in fine arts.

Lynn Collins' Acting Journey

Lynn Collins started her acting career on TV in 1999. Her first role was in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. After that, she performed in plays. She played important characters like Ophelia in Hamlet and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.

She also had small roles in movies like 50 First Dates and 13 Going on 30. Lynn became more well-known for her role in the 2004 film The Merchant of Venice. She played the main female character, Portia. The director was very impressed with her audition.

In 2008, Lynn joined the TV show True Blood. She played Dawn Green in the first season. A year later, she starred as Kayla Silverfox in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. She acted alongside Hugh Jackman in this superhero movie. Her first main role in a film was in 2012. She played the Martian princess Dejah Thoris in John Carter.

Personal Life and Beliefs

Lynn Collins married Steven Strait in 2007. They were together for four years before getting married. They later separated in 2013.

She married Matthew Boyle in 2014. They had a son together. However, they divorced in 2016.

Lynn grew up in a very religious family. She has explored different faiths as an adult. She describes herself as a spiritual person.
