Mabel Pines is a super fun character from the Disney Channel cartoon show Gravity Falls. She is voiced by Kristen Schaal. The show's creator, Alex Hirsch, designed Mabel. He was inspired by his own twin sister, Ariel Hirsch. Mabel first appeared in the very first episode of the show, "Tourist Trapped".
Mabel and her twin brother, Dipper Pines, are the main stars of almost every episode. Mabel even has her own short cartoon series. These are called "Mabel's Guide to Life" and "Mabel's Scrapbook".
Mabel is an energetic 12-year-old girl. She spends her summer vacation with her brother at their great-uncle's "Mystery Shack". This place is a funny tourist trap. Mabel helps Dipper uncover the secrets of Gravity Falls. They try to find out why strange things keep happening there.
They get help from their friends, Soos and Wendy. Soos is the handyman at the shack. Wendy is Dipper's crush and their co-worker. Together, they meet many amazing creatures. These include gnomes, cryptids, demons, aliens, and minotaurs. They also face the tricky villain, Bill Cipher.

Mabel's Role in Gravity Falls
Mabel Pines is a very energetic and happy girl. She wears braces and is from Piedmont, California. For the summer, she has to stay with her great-uncle Stan. This happens in the made-up town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. Her twin brother Dipper Pines is with her. The show never reveals who their parents are.
Mabel always tries to make the best of any situation. She often has a big, goofy smile. She also loves to wear many colorful sweaters and skirts. Mabel says she is a master of arts and crafts. In one episode, she even made a wax figure of her uncle Stan. She used leftover wax from a melted figure.
Mabel grew to really like Grunkle Stan. He cares about her and Dipper a lot. He often protects them. Mabel is also very interested in boys. She dislikes anyone who is mean to her brother. She has a pet pig named Waddles. She won Waddles in the episode "The Time Traveler's Pig".
Mabel might seem like she is just there for laughs. But she often helps Dipper solve the mysteries of Gravity Falls. She played a key part in all three fights against the main bad guy, Bill Cipher. Dipper even said he couldn't beat Bill without Mabel's help.
