This is a list of fun characters from the Disney Channel TV show Gravity Falls. All these characters appeared in the first and second seasons of the show.

Main Characters

  • Mason "Dipper" Pines (voiced by Jason Ritter) is a 12-year-old boy. He's Mabel's twin brother, born just five minutes after her. Dipper is super curious and loves solving mysteries. He found a special book called Journal 3, which helps him understand the strange things happening in Gravity Falls. He's always looking for new puzzles and can't sit still when things are boring. Dipper is very smart for his age and loves making plans. He also has a secret crush on Wendy. His nickname "Dipper" comes from a birthmark on his forehead that looks like the Big Dipper constellation. His real name, Mason, was later shared in Journal 3.
  • Mabel Pines (voiced by Kristen Schaal) is Dipper's 12-year-old twin sister, born five minutes before him. Mabel is super energetic, happy, and loves being silly. She wears lots of colorful, knitted sweaters and is great at arts and crafts. Her fun personality often helps Dipper solve mysteries, even if she sometimes acts a bit goofy. Mabel loves reading teen romance books and dreams of finding her own romance. She once dated Li'l Gideon but quickly realized he was dangerous. Mabel won a pet pig named Waddles at a fair, and they are best friends. She also has her own series of shorts called "Mabel's Guide to Life." Mabel was inspired by the show's creator, Alex Hirsch's, twin sister, Ariel.
  • Stanley "Stan" Pines (voiced by Alex Hirsch) is Dipper and Mabel's great-uncle. He runs the Mystery Shack, a tourist trap that looks like a museum of strange things. Stan is a great salesman and loves making money, sometimes using tricky ways. He often sends the twins on wild errands, but he deeply cares for them and protects them from danger. Stan usually wears a fez hat and carries a special cane. He's strong for his age and can even fight when he needs to. Stan had a big secret: he was trying to bring his twin brother, Ford, back from another dimension. In the end, Stan bravely gave up his memory to defeat Bill Cipher, but he got it back thanks to Mabel's scrapbook. He is based on Alex Hirsch's own grandfather, also named Stan.
  • Jesus Alzamirano "Soos" Ramirez (voiced by Alex Hirsch) is a 22-year-old Hispanic man who works as the handyman at the Mystery Shack. He's a kind and adventurous friend to Dipper and Mabel, often driving them around. Soos is a bit clumsy but has many hidden talents, like engineering, being a DJ, and playing pinball. He loves spending time with Dipper doing "boy stuff." Soos didn't have a close relationship with his father growing up. After the show ends, Soos becomes the new boss of the Mystery Shack. He starts a long-distance relationship with Melody, who later moves to Gravity Falls and works at the Shack. Soos was inspired by a real animator named Jesus Chambrot, who was friends with Alex Hirsch.
  • Wendy Corduroy (voiced by Linda Cardellini) is a cool, laid-back 15-year-old who works part-time at the Mystery Shack. She's a tomboy and Dipper's crush. Wendy has had many boyfriends and is the oldest child of Manly Dan, a local lumberjack. She's tough, strong, and has great survival skills, just like her dad. Wendy is very social and has many friends her age. She used to date Robbie, but they broke up.
  • Stanford Filbrick "Ford" Pines (voiced by J. K. Simmons) is Stan's long-lost twin brother. He has six fingers on each hand and wrote the three mysterious journals that Dipper found. In 1982, Ford accidentally got stuck in another dimension after building a portal. Mabel later reopened the portal, bringing him back. Ford was once friends with Bill Cipher, but he realized Bill was evil and tried to stop his plans. He worked hard to contain a dangerous dimensional rift. After Bill's defeat, Ford and Stan decided to sail the world together, looking for more strange things.
  • Bill Cipher (voiced by Alex Hirsch) is a super powerful, evil dream demon and the main bad guy of the show. He looks like a yellow triangle with one eye, wearing a top hat and a bow tie. Bill is funny but gets angry easily. He can read minds, change shapes, mess with reality, and shoot laser blasts. He first appeared to help Li'l Gideon but had much bigger, secret plans. Bill tricked Mabel into releasing a dangerous dimensional rift, which started Weirdmageddon, a crazy event where he took over Gravity Falls. He turned many people into stone and tried to get Ford to tell him how to take over the whole world. In the end, Stan tricked Bill, and Ford used a memory gun to erase Bill from existence, saving everyone. Bill's name might be a play on the Beale ciphers or the Eye of Providence on a dollar bill.
