Jillian Leigh Bell (born April 25, 1984) is an American actress, comedian, and screenwriter. She is known for her funny roles in movies and TV shows. Jillian was a writer for the popular TV show Saturday Night Live during its 35th season, from 2009 to 2010.
After leaving Saturday Night Live, she took on leading roles in films such as Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019) and I'm Totally Fine (2022). She has also appeared on television, playing Jillian Belk in the series Workaholics. Jillian also voiced the character Violet Hart in Bless the Harts and had a recurring role as Dixie in the last season of Eastbound & Down. Some of her other movie appearances include 22 Jump Street (2014), Fist Fight (2017), Godmothered (2020), and Candy Cane Lane (2023). As of June 2024, she is engaged to artist and musician Luke McGarry.

Early Life and Beginnings
Jillian Bell was born and grew up in Las Vegas. Her parents are Tanzy and Ron Bell. She has Romanian family roots through her grandmother.
Jillian started learning about improv comedy when she was just eight years old. Improv is a type of theater where actors make up scenes and dialogue on the spot. She finished high school at Bishop Gorman High School in 2002. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles to follow her dreams of acting. There, she joined a famous comedy group called The Groundlings, which is known for training many successful comedians.
Jillian's Career Journey
Jillian auditioned for Saturday Night Live, a well-known sketch comedy show. Even though she didn't become a regular cast member, she was hired as a writer for the show in 2009 for its 35th season. That same year, she appeared in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
In 2011, Jillian started playing Jillian Belk in the Comedy Central TV series Workaholics. A famous film director named Paul Thomas Anderson saw her on the show. He was impressed and gave her a small role in his 2012 film The Master. She then had another small role in his 2014 film Inherent Vice.
Jillian also had a recurring role as Dixie in the fourth and final season of Eastbound & Down. In 2014, she appeared in the movie 22 Jump Street alongside actors Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. In 2015, she co-starred in the films Goosebumps and The Night Before.
In January 2016, Comedy Central launched a new series called Idiotsitter. In this show, Jillian played Genevieve Russell, an adult daughter from a rich family who was always misbehaving. The show actually started as a web series in early 2014.
Jillian Bell also starred as the Fairy Godmother in Disney's movie Godmothered. This movie was released on the streaming service Disney+.
