Brennan Marcel Williams (born February 5, 1991) is an American professional wrestler and a former football player. He currently wrestles for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as Mason Madden. He is part of a tag team called MxM Collection with his partner, Mansoor. He also performs for Ring of Honor (ROH) and other wrestling groups. Many fans know him from his time in WWE, where he used names like Dio Maddin, Mace, and ma.çé.
Before becoming a wrestler, Brennan played college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Houston Texans picked him in the 2013 NFL draft. He then joined WWE in 2016 and stayed until 2023.

Early Life and School Football
Brennan Williams was born in North Easton, Massachusetts. He went to Catholic Memorial School.
While in high school, Brennan was a very talented football player. He was named to the PrepStar High School All-America team. He was also part of the "Super 26" team in 2008. Both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald newspapers recognized him as an all-scholastic player. He was named all-conference during his junior and senior years.
Experts rated him as one of the best offensive linemen in the country. For example, Rivals.com said he was the seventh best offensive guard. He also played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which features top high school players.
On February 15, 2014, Catholic Memorial School honored Brennan by retiring his jersey number, 73.
Football Career
College Football
Brennan received a sports scholarship to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He played for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team from 2009 to 2012. In his senior year, 2012, he earned honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honors. During this year, he also had a shoulder injury. Brennan studied communications while at North Carolina.
Professional Football Teams
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans picked Brennan in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was the 89th player chosen overall. Sadly, he missed his first year in the NFL because of a knee injury. The Texans released him on July 21, 2014.
Jacksonville Jaguars
On February 20, 2015, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed Brennan to a two-year contract. They planned for him to be a backup player. However, the Jaguars released him on August 29, 2015.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots signed Brennan to their practice squad on October 20, 2015. A practice squad is where players train with the team but are not on the main roster. They released him just two days later.
Professional Wrestling Career
Reality of Wrestling (2016)
After leaving the Patriots, Brennan went back to Houston. He began training to become a professional wrestler. His coach was the famous WWE star Booker T. Brennan made his wrestling debut on February 1, 2016. He wrestled for Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion under the name Marcellus Black.
WWE (2016–2023)
Early Years in WWE (2016–2020)
On February 11, 2016, Brennan tried out for WWE at their training center in Orlando, Florida. WWE officially announced they had signed him on August 1, 2016. He started training at the WWE Performance Center that same day. He had his first match for WWE at an NXT live event on September 30, 2016.
In June 2019, Brennan received a new wrestling name, Dio Maddin. On September 10, 2019, Dio Maddin joined the commentary team for 205 Live, a WWE show. Later that month, he became a commentator for Raw, one of WWE's main shows. His time as a commentator ended in November 2019. He was sent back to NXT to continue his wrestling training. On Raw, his absence was explained by a storyline where he was attacked by Brock Lesnar.
Retribution (2020–2022)
On September 21, 2020, Brennan made his debut on the main WWE roster. He was now a wrestler again and part of a villainous group called Retribution. He used the new ring name Mace, wore a mask, and had a new look. On October 5, Mustafa Ali was revealed as the leader of Retribution.
At Fastlane on March 21, 2021, Mace and T-Bar attacked Ali, which led to the group breaking up. On April 12, Mace and T-Bar attacked Drew McIntyre. The next week, Mace and T-Bar wrestled without their masks. As part of the 2021 Draft, Mace moved to the SmackDown brand, while T-Bar stayed on Raw. This meant their tag team ended.
Maximum Male Models (2022–2023)
On April 15, 2022, Mace returned on SmackDown as part of LA Knight's new group, Knight Model Management. On July 1, Knight, now known as Max Dupri, introduced Mace and Mansoor as his new tag team, Maximum Male Models. They used slightly changed names: ma.çé and mån.sôör. Later, Maxxine Dupri, Max's sister in the storyline, joined to manage the team.
Maximum Male Models moved to the Raw brand on February 6, 2023. After spending time with Otis and Chad Gable of the Alpha Academy, Maxxine left Maximum Male Models. She joined Alpha Academy on May 15, 2023. After several months without wrestling, ma.çé and mån.sôör announced on September 21, 2023, that they had left WWE.
Independent Circuit (2023–present)
Brennan, now using the name Madden, made a surprise appearance at a Deadlock Pro-Wrestling (DPW) event on December 10, 2023. He was with Mansoor as part of their tag team, MxM. MxM had their first match for DPW on January 20, 2024.
On April 13, 2024, MxM appeared for Soft Ground Wrestling (SGW) in Uganda. Their appearance helped the rising promotion gain more attention. Many other wrestlers from groups like AEW and TNA showed their support.
All Elite Wrestling / Ring of Honor (2024–present)
Madden and Mansoor, as MxM Collection, first appeared on Ring of Honor (ROH) on July 4, 2024. On July 10, it was reported that MxM Collection had signed a deal with ROH and its sister promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
MxM Collection had their first ROH match on July 26, 2024, at Death Before Dishonor: Zero Hour. They won against Spanish Announce Project. MxM Collection made their AEW debut on July 27, 2024, on AEW Collision. They lost to FTR. On November 6, 2024, MxM Collection formed an alliance with Johnny TV.
At the Revolution pre-show on March 9, 2025, TV and MxM Collection lost a match to "Big Boom!" A.J., Orange Cassidy, and Mark Briscoe.
DDT Pro-Wrestling (2025–present)
On June 29, 2025, at King of Kings, MxM Collection made their DDT Pro-Wrestling debut. They defeated Danshoku Dino and Kazuki Hirata.
Personal Life
Brennan Williams is the son of Jacquelyn and Brent Williams, who was also an NFL defensive end. Brennan has three children with his wife, Ciarra. His brother, Cam, played football for Ohio State and later became a scout for the New England Patriots.
His younger sister, Jaylen, played basketball at Penn State. She also signed with WWE from August 2021 to April 2022.
Brennan has always been a fan of professional wrestling. He enjoys watching video games, anime, and manga. His love for anime is even part of his wrestling style. For example, his running knee attack is called "Nico Nico Knee," which is a fun reference to a character from the anime Love Live!.
Other Media and Online Presence
Brennan Williams has appeared in many online videos. He has been on the YouTube channel The Third Wheel, which focuses on tabletop role-playing games. He played characters like The Batsu Sama and a character named Harlock. He also appeared on another channel called Stabbyness.
Brennan also worked with the YouTube channel Super Best Friends Play. He earned the nickname "Better Woolie" because he looked like one of the group members, Woolie Madden. This resemblance even partly inspired his wrestling name, Dio Maddin. He also appeared in a Minecraft wrestling show.
He has also done voice-over work for different videos, including "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2" by Did You Know Anime.
On February 3, 2021, Brennan re-launched his own YouTube channel. He uses a virtual avatar and goes by the name JiBo.
