History of Macksville
Macksville was first settled in 1878. The town was officially started around 1885. It used to have a stop for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway, which was a big train company. There was also a weekly newspaper called the Enterprise. The city was named after George Mack, who was the first postmaster in Stafford County.
