Maggiano's Little Italy is a popular American restaurant chain. It serves delicious Italian-American cuisine. Think of classic dishes like pasta, salads, and seafood.

This restaurant started in 1991 in Chicago. It was founded by Rich Melman and his company, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. The name "Maggiano's" honors Melman's friend, Marvin Magid.

In 1995, another big company called Brinker International bought Maggiano's. By 2021, there were 54 Maggiano's restaurants. You can find them in 22 different states and Washington, D.C.

How Maggiano's Began

The first Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant opened on November 11, 1991. It was located in Chicago, Illinois, at the corner of Clark Street and Grand Avenue. This area is known as the River North neighborhood.

The idea behind Maggiano's was to create a classic "dinner house" experience. This meant serving large, family-sized portions of food. It was like going to a big family meal before World War II.

After the first restaurant, two more opened in Illinois. One was in Oak Brook and another in Skokie. In 1994, Maggiano's opened its first restaurant outside of Illinois.

In 1995, Brinker International bought the restaurant chain. Their goal was to help Maggiano's grow and open locations all across the United States.

What's on the Menu?

In February 2017, Maggiano's started offering a special brunch menu. This menu is available seven days a week.
