The Mahogany Mountains are a cool mountain range found right on the border between Nevada and Utah. They stretch across Lincoln County in Nevada and Iron County in Utah. Imagine a natural border made of tall peaks!
About the Mountains
These mountains are a part of a bigger system of ranges in the western United States. They are known for their rugged beauty and the unique plants and animals that call them home.
Highest Point
The tallest spot in the Mahogany Mountains is called Mahogany Peak (Lincoln County). This peak stands very tall, reaching about 8,665 feet (which is over 2,600 meters!) into the sky. It's located in the center-northwest part of the range.
Neighboring Ranges
The Mahogany Mountains are not alone! To their north, you'll find the Needle Mountains (Nevada-Utah). These two ranges are connected, almost like they're holding hands. Even further north, the Mahogany Mountains and the Needle Mountains connect to the southern end of the White Rock Mountains of Nevada. This creates a long chain of mountains that stretches across the landscape.
