Malbun (pronounced mal-boon) is a small, snowy village in the country of Liechtenstein. It's a popular place for skiing and other winter sports. Malbun is special because it's the only ski resort in Liechtenstein! It's located high up in the beautiful Alps mountains.
Where is Malbun?
Malbun sits about 1,600 meters (that's over 5,200 feet) above sea level. Imagine being that high up in the mountains! It's part of the Triesenberg municipality, even though it's a bit separated from the main part of Triesenberg.
The village is nestled in the Alps, a famous mountain range in Europe. You can find it on a road that connects to other towns like Steg and Vaduz. It's also very close to the border with Austria.
Skiing in Malbun
The main ski area in Malbun is called Bergbahnen Malbun. It's a great place for skiing and snowboarding. The ski area has three chair lifts to take you up the slopes. Two lifts are on the western side of the mountain, and one is on the eastern side.
From the top of the eastern lift, you can see amazing views. You might even spot the alpine ridges of Switzerland and Austria in the distance!
Fun for Kids
At the bottom of the ski slopes, there are two special areas just for children.
- Malbi Park: This is a free learning area for young skiers. It has a small tow-bar lift and a "magic carpet" conveyor belt. These make it easy for beginners to get up the gentle slopes.
- Ski School Area: A little further from the main ski area, you'll find the spot where Malbun's ski school teaches lessons. It's a perfect place for kids to learn how to ski safely and have fun.
