Malcolm Iseiah Thomas (born November 8, 1988) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a power forward for the Sagesse Club in the Lebanese Basketball League (LBL). Before turning pro, he played college basketball for the San Diego State Aztecs. He was recognized twice as one of the best players in the Mountain West Conference (MWC).

Early Life and High School Basketball
Malcolm Thomas was born in Columbia, Missouri. His father, also named Malcolm Thomas, was a talented basketball player too. His father played for Missouri and was even drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1985.
Malcolm was raised by his mother and aunts. He played high school basketball at Crawford High School in San Diego, California. In his final year, he helped his team win a championship title.
College Basketball Career
Malcolm started his college career at Pepperdine University. As a freshman, he scored about 12.5 points and grabbed 8.8 rebounds per game. He then moved to San Diego City College. There, he was a star, averaging 21.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks. He was even named co-Most Valuable Player (MVP) for California community colleges.
After that, he played two seasons for the San Diego State Aztecs. He was named to the All-MWC second team twice. In his senior year (2011), he was part of the MWC All-Defensive team. He was great at getting rebounds and blocked shots. That year, his team made it to the "Sweet 16" round of the NCAA Tournament. Malcolm finished his time at San Diego State as one of their top shot blockers and rebounders ever.
Professional Basketball Journey
Malcolm Thomas was not chosen in the 2011 NBA draft. This means he was an undrafted player. However, he soon began his professional career.
Early Years and NBA Stints
In 2011, during an NBA lockout, Malcolm played for Mobis Phoebus in the Korean Basketball League. He played very well, but the team later let him go.
He then joined the Los Angeles Lakers in December 2011 but was later waived. He also played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA D-League (now G League) many times. In January 2012, he signed with the San Antonio Spurs. He played his first NBA game with them. He also played for the Austin Toros and Rio Grande Valley Vipers, which are D-League teams. Later, he signed with the Houston Rockets.
Playing Overseas and More NBA Chances
In 2012, Malcolm signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, a top team in the EuroLeague. He played well there, but his playing time decreased. He returned to the D-Fenders in 2013.
He then signed short contracts with the Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls in 2013. He played a few games for both teams.

In 2013, he rejoined the D-Fenders and then the San Antonio Spurs again. He also played for the Utah Jazz and the Philadelphia 76ers. He was named an NBA D-League All-Star in 2014.

The Basketball Tournament (TBT)
In the summer of 2017, Malcolm played in The Basketball Tournament (TBT). This is a special basketball tournament shown on ESPN. He played for a team called "A Few Good Men," which was made up of former players from Gonzaga University. Malcolm averaged 12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. His team made it to the "Super 16" round before losing.
