History of Malta Village
Malta was first established in 1816. The village received its name from the famous European island of Malta. This shows a connection to places far away, even in its early days.
Geography and Location
Malta is found on the western side of the Muskingum River. It sits directly across the river from McConnelsville. This makes the two towns close neighbors.
