Mame Biram Diouf (born December 16, 1987) is a professional footballer from Senegal. He plays as a striker for the Turkish club Ankara Keçiörengücü.
Diouf began his football journey at Diaraf in Senegal. He then moved to Molde in Norway in 2007. His amazing goal-scoring skills caught the eye of many big clubs. He eventually joined Manchester United in 2009.
While at Manchester United, he was loaned to other teams to gain more experience. He played for Blackburn Rovers and later for Hannover 96 in Germany. In 2014, he joined Stoke City, where he played for six seasons. Diouf also proudly represented his home country, Senegal, in major tournaments. These included the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Club Career Highlights
Starting in Norway: Molde
Mame Diouf was born in Dakar, Senegal. He started his football career with a club called Diaraf. In January 2007, he moved to Norway to play for Molde. He had trained with them before and was happy to join other Senegalese players there.
In his second season with Molde, Diouf played in the top Norwegian league, Tippeligaen. He scored five goals against Brann in just two matches. These goals made other clubs interested in him. He was linked to big teams like Arsenal and Feyenoord.
In the 2009 season, Diouf scored 16 goals in 29 games. He even scored a hat-trick in the first nine minutes of a game against Brann. He added a fourth goal later in that match. Molde finished second in the league that year.
Joining a Giant: Manchester United
In May 2009, many top clubs wanted to sign Diouf. On July 17, 2009, Molde and Manchester United announced that he would be moving. Diouf stayed on loan at Molde until January 2010. Then he joined his new teammates in Manchester.
Manchester United's manager, Alex Ferguson, said they had been watching Diouf for two years. He was the last player they planned to sign that season. On January 7, 2010, Diouf received his work permit. He was given the number 32 shirt.
He made his first appearance for United on January 9, 2010. It was a league match against Birmingham City. Diouf came on as a substitute in the 81st minute. He made his home debut on January 16, 2010, against Burnley. In that game, he scored his first goal for United. He celebrated with a cool flip!
Loan to Blackburn Rovers
On August 6, 2010, Diouf joined Blackburn Rovers on a loan for the season. He quickly made an impact. He scored a hat-trick in his first full game for Blackburn. This was in a League Cup match against Norwich City.
He scored his first league goal for Rovers four days later. It was against Arsenal in his first ever Premier League start. By the end of his loan, he had played 29 games and scored six goals.
Back at Manchester United
Diouf returned to United in the summer of 2011. He joined the team for their pre-season tour in America. He scored in a game against Seattle Sounders FC. He also scored twice in a special match for Paul Scholes. Diouf played in two League Cup matches that season.
Moving to Germany: Hannover 96
In January 2012, Diouf signed a two-year contract with the German club Hannover 96. He quickly started scoring goals. He scored his first goal in a 4–2 win against VfB Stuttgart. He also scored the only goal against Club Brugge in the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League.
Diouf scored six goals in his first six games for Hannover. In total, he played 15 times in the 2011–12 season. He scored ten goals, including two against Atlético Madrid in the Europa League quarter-finals. In the 2012–13 season, Diouf was Hannover's top scorer. He scored 17 goals in 36 matches. His contract ended in 2014, and he left Hannover.
Premier League Return: Stoke City
On June 11, 2014, Diouf signed a four-year contract with Stoke City. He joined them for free. He felt more ready for the Premier League after his time in Germany. He played his first game for Stoke on August 16, 2014.
Diouf scored his first goal for Stoke on August 30, 2014. It was against Manchester City. He ran 70 yards with the ball before scoring. This gave Stoke a 1–0 victory. In his first season, he often played as a right winger. He scored 12 goals, making him Stoke's top scorer that season.
In September 2015, Diouf's mother sadly passed away. This affected his performance, and he lost his spot as a main striker. He sometimes played in different positions, even as a right-back. He scored a late goal against Chelsea in March 2016. He dedicated his winning goal against West Ham United to his mother.
Diouf signed a new contract with Stoke in September 2017. He played regularly in the 2017–18 season. However, Stoke was relegated to the Championship that year. He left Stoke in July 2020 after six years with the club.
Later Career in Turkey
On August 31, 2020, Diouf joined the Turkish club Hatayspor. He played two seasons there, scoring 31 goals in 75 games. On August 31, 2022, Diouf moved to Konyaspor for one year. He then played for Göztepe in the 2023–24 season. As of 2024, he plays for Ankara Keçiörengücü.
International Career
On August 12, 2009, Diouf played his first game for the Senegal national team. It was a friendly match against the DR Congo. He scored his first goal for Senegal on August 11, 2010, against Cape Verde.
On November 15, 2014, Diouf scored a goal against Egypt. This goal helped Senegal qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. In the tournament, he scored Senegal's first goal against Ghana.
In May 2018, Diouf was chosen to be part of Senegal's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He proudly represented his country on the world stage.
Personal Life
Mame Diouf married Maria Orten in Molde, Norway, on July 2, 2011. His brother, Mame Mbar Diouf, is also a football player. Sadly, Diouf's mother passed away in September 2015.
