Mamuka Bakhtadze (Georgian: მამუკა ბახტაძე; born 9 June 1982) is a Georgian politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Georgia from June 2018 to September 2019. Before that, he was the Minister of Finance from 2017 to 2018. He also led the Georgian Railway company.

Early Life and Education
Mamuka Bakhtadze was born in Tbilisi, which was then part of the Soviet Union. He studied at two universities in Tbilisi. In 2003, he earned a degree in Management and Microeconomics from Tbilisi State University. He also studied Electromechanical Engineering at the Georgian Technical University.
Later, he continued his studies abroad. He received an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Moscow State University in 2005. He also got an MBA from the INSEAD business school in 2010.
After finishing his studies, Bakhtadze worked at the Georgian International Energy Corporation. In 2013, he became the CEO of Georgian Railway LLC. This is Georgia's state-owned railway company.
Journey to Government
In November 2017, Mamuka Bakhtadze became the Minister of Finance. He served in the government led by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
In June 2018, Prime Minister Kvirikashvili resigned. This meant the whole government also had to step down. The ruling party, Georgian Dream, then chose Mamuka Bakhtadze to be the next Prime Minister. At 36 years old, he was not very well known to the public.
Becoming Prime Minister
On June 20, 2018, the Georgian parliament voted to approve Bakhtadze's new government. He received 99 votes in favor and 6 against. A few weeks later, in July, the parliament voted again to confirm his government. This happened after some changes were made to the government ministries.
As Prime Minister, Bakhtadze promised to continue Georgia's goal of joining European organizations. He also promised to make important new changes in the country.
Key Actions as Prime Minister

Mamuka Bakhtadze's first trip as Prime Minister was to Brussels in July 2018. There, he met with European officials and confirmed Georgia's wish to join the European Union.
In September 2018, he spoke at the UN General Assembly. He talked about the presence of Russian military forces in parts of Georgia. He also spoke about Georgia's new ideas for peace in these areas.
During his time as Prime Minister, his government worked on important issues. They created a list called the Otkhozoria–Tatunashvili List. This list was to punish people responsible for crimes against Georgians in certain regions.
Reforms and Resignation
In 2018, Bakhtadze introduced several plans for change. These included improvements to the education system. He also focused on a "green economy," which means making the economy more environmentally friendly. This included a Clean Transport policy.
He supported Salome Zourabichvili in her campaign to become the President of Georgia. When she won in November 2018, he called it a "victory for democracy."
On September 2, 2019, Mamuka Bakhtadze announced his resignation. He shared his decision on Facebook. He stated that he felt he had "fulfilled my mission at this point."
