History of Manchester
Manchester was first settled in 1814. Back then, it was a village called Liverpool. In 1869, it officially became a borough. This happened in the eastern part of Manchester Township.
Manchester During the Civil War
During the American Civil War, a major conflict in U.S. history, Manchester faced a challenge. In the Gettysburg Campaign, which was a series of battles, soldiers from the 17th Virginia Cavalry raided local businesses.
