Manor House Wildlife Park is a fun and exciting zoo located in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It covers a large area of 52-acre (21 ha), giving lots of space for amazing animals from all over the world. The park is just north of the village of St Florence. In 2008, television presenter Anna Ryder Richardson and Colin MacDougall bought the park. It is now known as Manor Wildlife Park. This park is known for its efforts to protect endangered species and offers a great day out for families and animal lovers.

Meet the Amazing Animals

Manor Wildlife Park is home to many different kinds of animals, both big and small. You can see impressive large animals like the Southern White Rhino, graceful oryx, and unique Damara Zebras. There are also tapirs, camels, and llamas. One of the most exciting animals to see is the Sumatran tiger!

The park also has many smaller wild animals. These include the adorable red panda, curious meerkats, and bouncy wallabies. You can also spot four different types of lemurs:

If you love birds, you'll find a variety here too. Look out for ostriches, emus, rheas, and guinea fowl roaming around.

Protecting Endangered Species

Manor Wildlife Park plays an important role in helping to protect animals that are in danger of disappearing forever. These are called endangered species. The park is home to several of these special animals.

One of the most critically endangered animals at the park is the Sumatran tiger. These beautiful big cats are part of the European Endangered Species Programme. This program helps zoos work together to breed endangered animals. The goal is to keep their populations healthy.

The park also has Siamang gibbons and Ring Tailed Lemurs, which are also endangered. You can also see "Zamba," a white rhino. Zamba is one of three Southern white rhinos at the park. Zamba was the first white rhino to be born in the UK using artificial insemination. This is a special way to help animals reproduce.

Red Ruffed Lemurs are also critically endangered. This means they are at a very high risk of becoming extinct in the wild. Manor Wildlife Park helps care for these lemurs as part of their collection. In 2018, the park welcomed two endangered red panda sisters from Odense Zoo in Denmark. They now live in their own little forest area within the park.

A Look at the Park's History

The park has been around for a while, changing and growing over the years. Back in 2002, it was known as Manor House Wild Animal Park. At that time, it had a museum, a souvenir shop, and a restaurant, along with all the animal exhibits.

In 2008, TV presenter and property developer Anna Ryder Richardson and her then-husband Colin MacDougall took over the zoo. They worked to make it the exciting place it is today, now known as Manor Wildlife Park.

Fun Facilities for Visitors

Manor Wildlife Park offers more than just animal viewing. There are also many facilities to make your visit even better! You can grab a bite to eat at the cafe. If the weather isn't great, there are indoor play facilities where kids can have fun. On sunny days, you might even find a bouncy castle to jump on! The park also offers special educational programs.
