Mansel Island is a large island in Canada. In the Inuktitut language, it is called Pujjunaq. This island is part of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, which is a huge group of islands in northern Canada. Mansel Island is special because no one lives there! It is located in Hudson Bay, a very large body of water in northeastern Canada.

Mansel Island is quite big. It covers an area of about 3,180 square kilometers (1,228 square miles). This makes it the 159th largest island in the world. It is also Canada's 28th largest island. The island is found off the coast of Quebec's Ungava Peninsula.

The island got its name in the year 1613. It was named by a man named Sir Thomas Button. He named it after Vice-Admiral Sir Robert Mansell.
