The Mapuche football team is a special football team. It represents the Mapuche people, who live in parts of Chile and Argentina. The Mapuche Football Association, started in 2007, manages the team.

The team's main goal is to show the Mapuche culture to the world through sports. They want to be seen as a unique cultural group with shared interests. The Mapuche team is part of ConIFA and COSANFF. These groups organize football for teams not recognized by FIFA. The Mapuche team was even supposed to play in the 2020 ConIFA World Football Cup, but it was cancelled.

A cool fact: the Mapuche team appears in a fake documentary! In this story, they win the 1942 FIFA World Cup in Patagonia. They beat Germany 2–1 in the final.
