Mara Maionchi (born April 22, 1941) is a well-known Italian record producer and television personality. She has helped many famous singers start their careers and has been a popular judge on TV talent shows.

Mara Maionchi's Journey in Music

Mara Maionchi started her career in 1967. She worked as a secretary in the press office for Ariston Records. There, she helped famous artists like Ornella Vanoni and Mino Reitano. Mara is married to Alberto Salerno, who is a songwriter. They have two daughters, Giulia and Camilla, who now help Mara with her public relations.

Discovering New Talent

In 1969, Mara joined Numero Uno, a record label started by Mogol and Lucio Battisti. This experience led her to Dischi Ricordi in the 1970s. At Dischi Ricordi, she became a "talent discoverer." This means she found new singers who had great potential. She helped launch the careers of artists like Gianna Nannini. Later, she became an "art director," guiding the musical journey of Fabrizio De André and helping to make Mango famous.

In the 1990s, Mara met Tiziano Ferro at the SanremoLab academy. She then produced his first three music albums, helping him become a huge star.

Mara, her husband, and their daughters later started their own record label called Non ho l'età. Their goal was to find and promote new musical talents.

That same year, she released a dance song called Fantastic, which became very popular in Italy. In 2011, she joined another talent show, Amici di Maria De Filippi.

Mara returned to X Factor in 2014, not as a judge, but as the main person on the Xtra Factor talk show. She continued this role for the ninth and tenth seasons. In 2017, she was announced as a judge again for the 11th season. She won for the first time with Lorenzo Licitra and then again in 2018 with Anastasio.
